Kiddix OS
I love innovation for education/children in technology.
But I have to say, I think creating children-specific browsers/operating systems/etc. is no longer the right perspective to have. Children understand general computing concepts better than a lot of adults. Everyone knows or has heard firsthand stories about toddlers who can work their way through an iPhone.
What we really need to concentrate on is making software simpler to use in general. This is about reducing the complexities of menus, buttons, etc. as much as it is about building software that is resilient in the face of unexpected situations.
This is still a huge challenge mainly due to the infancy of modern computing (we're still fighting compatibility issues with hardward/software designed ten years ago when the world was a very different place). I'm very hopeful in the coming years that we'll have a more solid foundation of technology to better achieve these kinds of goals.
And some day all of our computers/TVs/apps/phones will truly work just as advertised.
